Every October the Exchange Club of Salem partners with Fordyce Farms to provide the children from our ESCAPE (our child abuse prevention program) with a Pumpkin Patch outing. Each child is encouraged to select a pumpkin to take home and make into a Jack-o-Lantern.
Children and parents enjoy the hay bale mountain, corn maze, hay ride, and other activities. Cider and snacks are provided! For many of these children it is their first visit to a farm.
This event has been voted a favorite among the children – ” it makes us feel normal”.
